My Ashes

My life is a pile of ashes
one cigarette said to another
no matter how hard I tried - I got used

I was once a vibrant flame
but as soon as the smoke cleared
reality set in
I am nothing,
but a gray,
mound of ashes.

Useless,
and cold.
